Shaher Abdulhak is a Yemeni businessman. Abdulhak founded the company "Shaher Trading", an enterprise involved in petroleum, soft drinks, tourism and property. Abdulhak is known as the "King of Sugar" in Yemen, where he holds great influence also politically.

Muhammad Said al-Attar was the acting Prime Minister of Yemen for five months in 1994.

Haidar Abu Bakr al-Attas was appointed Prime Minister of Yemen by President Ali Abdullah Saleh when the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen and Yemen Arab Republic united in 1990 to form present-day Yemen. Al-Attas served until 1994. He is a member of the Yemeni Socialist Party.

Abdullah Al-Baradouni was a Yemeni writer and poet. He had published 12 poetry books as well as six other books on such topics as politics, folklore, and literature. He is considered Yemen's most famous poet.
