Susan Butcher (December 26, 1954 – August 5, 2006) was an American dog musher, noteworthy as the second woman to win the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race in 1986, the second four-time winner in 1990, and the first to win four out of five sequential years. She is commemorated in Alaska by the Susan Butcher Day.

William Allen Egan (October 8, 1914 - May 6, 1984) was an American Democratic politician. He served as the first Governor of the State of Alaska from January 3, 1959 to 1966, and the fourth Governor from 1970 to 1974. Born in Valdez, Alaska, Egan is the only governor in the state's history to have been born in Alaska.

Jewel Jewel (born May 23, 1974), professionally known as Jewel, is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer, actress, and poet. She has received four Grammy Award nominations and has sold over 27 million albums worldwide. Jewel was born in Payson, Utah. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Homer, Alaska where her grandfather Yule Kilcher, a delegate to the Alaska Constitutional Convention and a state senator, had settled after emigrating from Switzerland.Yule also made the first recorded crossing of the Harding Icefield. Jewel is a first cousin once removed of actress Q'orianka Kilcher.

Carl Ben Eielson (1897 - 1929) This pilot made the first Alaska airmail flight in 1924.
