Widad Akrawi, is a Danish human rights defender and peace advocate of Kurdish ancestry and the first Scandinavian citizen-ever Pfeffer Peace Prize recipient. She is an international health expert, author, lecturer, senior lobbyist, and the President of Defend International. Akrawi holds a Masters degree in genetics and a PhD in international health and epidemiology.

Abdulla Goran was a Kurdish poet. He undoubtedly brought about a revolution in Kurdish poetry, and is also called the father of modern Kurdish literature.

Ghassan Muhsen is an Iraqi career diplomat, as well as an artist with over 18 solo exhibitions and over 30 joint shows in four continents ranging from New Delhi to New York, from Dubai to Tunis.

Safa Abdul-Aziz Khulusi was an Iraqi historian, novelist, poet, journalist and broadcaster. He is known for mediating between Arabic- and English-language cultures, and for his scholarship of modern Iraqi literature.
