Ernest Richard Ward Neale, OC FRSC was a distinguished Canadian geologist. His scientific research contributed to the understanding of the large-scale structure of the northern Appalachian mountains of Atlantic Canada.

John Ross Mackay, OC FRSC was a Canadian geographer. He is most noted for his explorations of permafrost phenomena in the western Canadian Arctic. His 40 plus years of study has enabled the building of pipeline operations and petroleum explorations in areas of frozen ground.

Bangalore Puttaiya Radhakrishna, was one of the leading geologists of India. He was often referred to as 'the doyen of Indian geology'. He was a resident of Bangalore and regularly wrote the editorial in the Journal of the Geological Society of India published by the Geological Society of India.

Waman Bapuji Metre, sometimes referred to in the Indian oil industry as Dada, was an Indian petroleum geologist. For his "significant contribution to the growth of the oil industry in the country", he was awarded India's third-highest civilian award, the Padma Bhushan, in 1968.
