Henry Gannett was an American geographer who is described as the "Father of the Quadrangle" which is the basis for topographical maps in the United States.

Fred Kurt Schaefer was a geographer. He is considered as one of the pioneers of quantitative revolution. Kurt Schaefer was a whole man, a conscious member of the human race, a scientist, and an intellectual who remembered his humanist commitment. — William Bunge 1968.

Richard John Chorley was an English geographer, and Professor of Geography at Cambridge University, known as leading figure in quantitative geography in the late 20th century, who played an instrumental role in bringing in the use of systems theory to geography.
